The Aquabats

I'm working on a personal picture of the best band in the world, THE AQUABATS!! They love it when fans make their own costumes, and this will be on mine :).

So, the Aquabats are coming to Atlanta..

And they are! On May 5th, for those of you interested. Anyway, I couldn't think of a witty post title, hence the info on the Aquabats. Here are some scans from the same sheet of gray paper. No rhyme or reason to it.

The first is a picture of the Sparks' heads drawn from memory (knowing my memory, I'm surprised they don't look like Gene Kelly and Wesley Snipes).

Then I tried to draw Army of Lovers from Memory... the only one that looks slightly right is Bard, on the left. I don't know what happened to Barda's face.

...and a hand?

And now, a picture of Japhet from Japhet in Search of a Father. I have this very old copy of the book that was donated to a libray in Memphis in 1908. It doesn't have a print date on it anywhere.

This is one of the first characters you're introduced to in the book. He's a real happy fellownot.

As always, what sketch page of mine is complete without a drawing of my ever morphing Cirga?

My pal Geoff (pictured above), said that Cirga always looks goofy, and can't look as serious as Japhet does... WELL.

Cirga wasn't happy about that remark, so he made his mad dog face.

Tiling backgrounds

Well hallo-a there, all! This post is of tiled backgrounds that I used for miscellaneous things recently (website, blog, ect.). I've always quite enjoyed making tiled backgrounds. If you like them, feel free to use them for personal, non-commercial use.

This is the first one I made. It was of a character named Chauncey in a mock-Egyptian Hieroglyphic style. I still have a soft spot for this tiled-background, but I used it for the span of one afternoon (not even morning or evening).
This is the light version of the flying kitty cherubs tile. I chose a lighter design for my website, that way it's not obnoxious or distracting. Hoorah for monochrome-isity!
The darker version of the kitty cherubs as made originally for the blog, but ended up being too cumbersome to deal with (I was confused by the way you edit blogs). I like the sleek/simple black layout now better anyway.

Website

VISIT the site: here.
Well, folks, I've finally got my website designed. I'm still adding content to it, but the gallery page is up and running. I'm still making the code for the videos, but half of my flatbook is online now. Everything else hasn't been transcribed over to the new design, but will be soon.

This is an animated GIF of a life drawing I did. Same sitting, the model moved every 2 minutes.

That's all for now, guys. Take care.

Sorcerer's Apprentice

So, I'm sure most people are aware of the upcoming Sorcerer's Apprentice movie starring Nicholas Cage. Being that I'm an animation fan, I feel apprehensive. However, that's never stopped me before from seeing a movie.

I even did a little picture.
